BSIR Acknowledgement of the sad passing of Sharron Tansey – Boston Scientific

Created - 29.01.2020

Dear Members,

It is with great sadness I have to inform you that Sharron Tansey passed away peacefully on Tuesday 21st January at home with her family by her side.

Sharron worked for Boston Scientific for over 20 years in many roles but has always been a tremendous supporter of BSIR. Sharron was a frequent attender at the BSIR ASM where she encouraged and supported many young and old interventional radiologists with her knowledge and enthusiasm.

Over the past 5 years Sharron became involved in the ABHI developing guidance and structures related to industry regulation. Sharron was also involved in the Medical Technology Group (MTG) – a coalition of patient groups, research charities and members of medical device manufacturers working to improve access to cost effective medical technologies.

More recently Sharron was integral in developing the BSIR Women’s and Diversity sub-committee – a group that is flourishing within BSIR including developing the Anna Maria Belli travelling grant.

BSIR Council would like to send their deepest sympathies to her husband, family and Boston Scientific on this sad announcement.
